Since its founding in 1862, the Union Pacific Railroad has always been improving the way we transport people and goods. One hundred and fifty years later, the UPRR is working in conjunction with private contractors and the State of Illinois to develop and construct a High-Speed Intercity Passenger Rail (HSIPR) to connect Chicago and Saint Louis. This route will allow trains to operate at speeds up to 110 miles per hour.
R.W. Dunteman Co. was contracted for portions of the railway construction between the towns of Braidwood and Carlinville.
The work at Chicago Executive Airport consisted of removal and full depth reconstruction of runway 16/34, the main runway at CEA. This project was in conjunction with Chicago Executive Airports plans for safety improvement.
The work under this contract included Full-Depth concrete patching on travel lanes, the use of high early strength cast in place patching & precast panel patching, profile diamond grinding, removal & replacement of raised pavement lane markers, partial depth pavement, mill/overlay of existing HMA shoulders.
Rehabilitation of Taxiways Y & K and South Ramp Improvements; Milling and overlaying of Taxiways Y, D and Y2 pavements; Removal and full-depth reconstruction of Taxiway K with New P.C.C. pavement and bituminous shoulders; Milling and overlaying of Taxiway Y2; Removal and full-depth reconstruction of Taxiway Y1 and portions of the South Ramp; Replacement of lighting cabling and transformers outside of the pavement.
Reconstruction of 10 ramps along the Tri-State Tollway near the interchange with I-55, median barrier wall and drainage structure removal and reconstruction. Wood noise abatement wall repair.
